Rare and Rye Steakhouse right in the center of Downtown East Stroudsburg, is by far the best new restaurant in the area! Perfect for date night or a special occasion, Rare and Rye makes East Stroudsburg a true couples destination in Pennsylvania!
Located near their sister establishment, Derailed Taphouse, Rare and Rye is an upscale steakhouse, perfect for those looking for fine dining in East Stroudsburg.
This cozy restaurant has a welcoming bar and plenty of seating for couples or large groups!
My fiancé (Jonnie) and I actually went here for Valentine’s Day and it blew us away! Between their masterfully created cocktails, delicious appetizers, and perfectly cooked filet mignon, this is now our go-to spot for an upscale date night.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect place to eat in East Stroudsburg for an anniversary or birthday, Rare and Rye is now open and should always be your pick!
Even better – they have a connected cigar lounge where you can get after dinner cocktails and dessert.

Derailed Taphouse is an awesome spot right in the heart of Downtown East Stroudsburg. If you are looking to try some local brews accompanied by truly delicious bar food, this place is a must!
Belly up to it’s craft beer-stocked bar in the center of the restaurant or sit with all your friends in their large booth seating! This place is perfect for drinks after work or a special occasion.
While it may seem like your average bar food place, one look at Derailed’s menu will change your mind.
Lobster Rolls, Drunken Mussels, Crispy Artichoke Hearts, and Jerk Lamb Chops (just to name a few!) And they are all delicious!!
And best of all, Derailed has live music on Friday and Saturday nights! And you may recognize this featured duo…

Next up on our list is an East Stroudsburg dining experience that locals love, located right on the main walkable street: Trackside! This restaurant is the perfect family friendly stop for great food and drinks.
Located right across the street from Derailed Taphouse, Trackside rivals it’s similarly train-themed opponent across the way.
Trackside has a large and inviting dining room serving up amazing burgers, unique wing flavors, and a surprisingly vast assortment of sushi!
Stop in for a roll or try the absolute SPICIEST chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously, I like spicy food and I could not eat it. I give them props for having it on the menu but if you can’t handle spicy, try their chicken parm ciabatta instead 🙂
Trackside is a great choice for any occasion – located within walking distance of great bars, ice cream parlors, and other restaurants on East Stroudsburg’s Crystal Street.
Tatra Polish Deli

Although this is technically a deli and not a restaurant, Tatra Deli is a true hidden gem and one of the best places to eat in East Stroudsburg PA.
Located right next to a gas station, this Polish Deli is heaven for sausage and pierogi lovers.
As soon as you walk into this small store and deli, you’ll feel transported to another country. With canned goods, packaged treats, and even toiletries imported from Poland, you won’t feel like you’re in the Poconos anymore, Toto!
Jonnie is an extremely adventurous person and will never judge a book by its cover, or a deli from its curb appeal. He stopped here one day on our way out of town and now, it’s a tradition!
Order the pierogis and a kielbasa sandwich … and thank me later. Tatra Deli is one of the best places to stop in East Stroudsburg for a quick bite before heading out of town!
Farmhouse Eatery Crystal Street

If you’re looking for East Stroudsburg restaurants for lunch or brunch, Farmhouse Eatery is the way to go!
Located right in the middle of Downtown East Stroudsburg on Crystal Street, Farmhouse Eatery is a newer restaurant that offers brunch and lunch options all day long.
Known as a true farm-to-table establishment, Farmhouse Eatery’s “all day brunch” is known for their indulgent waffles, loaded up omelets and wide array of eggs benedict. They also offer unique coffee creations and cocktails!
Even if you aren’t in the mood for brunch, Farmhouse also offers sandwiches, burgers and other classic entrees. Be sure to check out this cute cafe on your next visit to East Stroudsburg – perfect for brunch during a girls weekend getaway in the Poconos!
Tom X Pub

Next on our list is Tom X Pub, a hole in the wall feel with food and drinks that impress!
If you’re looking for a casual weeknight dinner out after a long day, I’d suggest Tom X Pub for sure. It’s quick, it’s casual, it’s high quality!
Located right off 209 in East Stroudsburg, this is the perfect local spot after an afternoon of golfing at the Pocono Golf Course. With melt in your mouth burgers and plenty of beers on tap, Tom X is the one of the best local spots in the area. Their cheesesteak is AMAZING!
Stop by for one of their special events as well: they have paint and sips, live music, wing eating competitions.. you name it!
Best Restaurants NEAR East Stroudsburg PA
East Stroudsburg is located right next to Stroudsburg, another great downtown area. I couldn’t create a list of best restaurants without touching on some of the best in the neighboring towns.
None of these restaurants are further than 20 minutes from Downtown East Stroudsburg and give a bit more variety.
Momento

Momento is by far one of the best restaurants Stroudsburg PA offers. This Italian restaurant serves up some seriously amazing meals that are carefully curated by Chef Nicola Mersini – an accomplished chef from Italy with impressive credits in the New York food scene.
Momento’s dimmed and cozy atmosphere is the perfect setting for its rustic northern Italian menu.
With entrees including Egg Yolk Ravioli (topped with hazelnut truffle butter and sage sauce) and a 10 oz. Mishima Wagyu Rib Eye, you’ll know right away you’re not at your typical Pocono spot.
My family and I dined at Momento over the holidays and it was truly an evening to remember. With their beautiful menu, vast wine list and top-notch service, this spot is a must for a date night or special occasion.
It’s got my vote for one of the best romantic restaurants in the Poconos!
La Tolteca

Up next on my list is one of the best Mexican restaurants East Stroudsburg PA offers! Technically in Stroudsburg, it’s worth the 15 minute drive to this place! Complete with table side guac and authentic cuisine, La Tolteca is delicious.
Do not be fooled by its unassuming location and curbside appeal. La Tolteca is the best place for seriously good Mexican cuisine.
Located amongst shopping plazas, you’ll find that a fiesta awaits you!
My order at every Mexican restaurant is Enchiladas Verde and La Tolteca’s were out of this world. And of course, you have to pair it with their traditional margarita.
If you are craving enchiladas and endless chips and dip, look no further than Stroudsburg’s La Tolteca!
Sarah Street Grill

Sarah Street Grill is one of the best Stroudsburg restaurants, known by locals as the best place to get a beer and listen to live music! For the past 20 years, Sarah Street Grill has been a gathering place for great bar food in the heart of Downtown Stroudsburg PA.
My family and I always have a great time at Sarah Street Grill. A blue moon and a burger is always my choice and if there isn’t live music happening, there are old music videos playing on the many TV’s in the restaurant.
Sarah Street also offers fresh sushi, handmade right behind the bar! This is one of the best places to eat in Stroudsburg and is the perfect place to kick off a weekend in the Poconos.
Shawnee Craft Brewery

One of my FAVORITE spots in Stroudsburg for a craft beer, live music, and wood-fired pizza is the Shawnee Craft Brewery! Located on the grounds of the Shawnee Ski Resort, you’ll find all the locals cozied up in one of the best apres-ski spots in town!
Shawnee Craft Brewery is home to a constantly rotating selection of in-house brewed beers as well as deliciously fresh Neopolitan pizza.
In the summertime, be sure to snag a seat in their charming outdoor beer garden. In the winter, cozy up with your pizza and listen to live music inside their taproom!
Shawnee Craft Brewery is one of my favorite places to go with my family. I always order their Session IPA and their Hot Honey Pizza – absolutely to die for!

Next on our list is a restaurant located on the grounds of the Shawnee Inn Resort, one of the best destinations in the East Stroudsburg area.
Complete with skiing, breweries, golf courses, an historical (and probably haunted) hotel and restaurants, the Shawnee Inn Resort is a great spot for a family vacation!
The Gem and Keystone is a casual, family friendly restaurant located on property that truly has it all – making it one of the East Stroudsburg PA restaurants.
This American restaurant has a menu full of comfort food and a vast selection of ShawneeCraft beers. Take a seat on their main dining room, lower level, or outdoor patio amongst picturesque babbling brooks.
If you find yourself visiting the Shawnee Inn or slopes, you will want to stop here. I always get their cheesesteak and a pint of one of the Shawnee Brewery IPAs and man, does it hit the spot!
Garlic Restaurant and Bar

Located centrally on Main Street in Downtown Stroudsburg, is one of the best restaurants in town – Garlic!
Complete with traditional American menu items, this restaurant and bar has perfect outdoor patio seating and happy hour Monday through Thursday!
With hand-cut steaks, entrees with wine pairings, and a unique signature cocktail list, Garlic is the perfect date night spot in the center of town. HIghly recommend Garlic for a date night or a happy hour with friends.
Garlic is easily walkable to lots of other shops, restaurants and bars in Downtown Stroudsburg. One of the best things to do in the area is explore the local businesses – definitely check them out after your visit to Garlic!
Mountain View Vineyard, Winery, Brewery, & Distillery

Next on this list is not reeeeally a restaurant, but I had to make it an honorable mention because it is so beautiful and does serve food. So, last on our list is Mountain View Winery!
This amazingly beautiful winery is located just 15 minutes outside of East Stroudsburg and is a property you cannot miss.
Complete with a full selection of their own wines, beers, and liquor, a small plate menu, and beautiful grounds, this spot is a must for a weekend with friends!
I went here with my whole family on a beautiful Saturday and it was just perfection. I absolutely love their Aurore Semi-Dry white wine. It paired so well with their charcuterie board and the spectacular weather!
They also have a huge selection of their own beers and whiskeys. I’m not a huge whiskey person but Jonnie is and he LOVED their Mountain Goat Whiskey.
RUN to this winery for a beautiful day in the Poconos with drinks and food that match the scenery!
Bistecca by Il Mulino

The next best restaurant near East Stroudsburg PA is the delicious Bistecca, a higher-end Italian restaurant located in the Mt Airy Casino in Mt Pocono.
Bistecca by Il Mulino was named the best romantic restaurant and best Italian restaurant in 2022 by the Pocono’s Casino Player Dining and Nightlife team and it certainly lives up to it.
Located right in the heart of the bustling casino, this restaurant has the fine atmosphere of an upscale steakhouse as well as the rustic charm of an Italian staple.
Their fresh pasta, delicious seafood, and top notch meat cuts create an evening worth splurging on.
We’ve been there for my birthday two years in a row and I’ve ordered their spaghetti bolognese and salmon entree. Both are truly delicious.
They also go all out on desserts on your birthday – a sign of a great restaurant in my opinion.
Desaki

Being surrounded by the magic of the Pocono Mountains could cause for celebration. And what better way to celebrate than get some Japanese Hibachi!?
If you are celebrating or just want to watch someone cook shrimp and steak with flair after a day of skiing, Desaki is the place to be.
Located in Swiftwater PA on route 611, Desaki is a gorgeous restaurant that offers the best hibachi near the East Stroudsburg Pa area.
The experience is traditional Japanese Hibachi, however(!) the food is GOOD and the atmosphere is expansive – you don’t feel like you’re on top of the party next to you.
Desaki is also in a central location to the Pocono’s greatest attractions. Have some Hibachi after a day at Camelback, Mount Airy Resort, or Great Wolf Lodge. (All are only 3 miles away!!) It is the perfect celebratory dinner near East Stroudsburg for the whole family.
Stone Bar Inn

The Stone Bar Inn is a unique and historical restaurant, perfect if you’re looking for a warm and cozy restaurant near Stroudsburg PA!
This historic, actual stone building, dates back to the 1930’s and is a true Pocono landmark. Offering cozy American food, Stone Bar Inn is a more upscale restaurant, great for special occasions!
With daily specials, including pasta night, live music, and one of the best happy hours Stroudsburg offers, Stone Bar Inn is a fantastic option for a special night out.
My family went here to celebrate my and Jonnie’s engagement. I ordered the seafood pasta, and it was absolutely delicious – There was an entire lobster on my plate!
Stone Bar Inn is definitely one of the best restaurants near Stroudsburg PA for a classic Pocono experience.
